Everything I could think of,
stacked together.

A cigarette—
lit,
left
where we used to smoke.

Pasture: Spring / Winter
Loki Peng
2024
Two-channel video installation
Duration: 1:20 / 1:41

Migration unfolds across spring and winter, moving through a cyclical rhythm of seasons. Time no longer progresses linearly but loops within the environment, where the self continuously adapts and recalibrates.

Walking, feeding, sleeping—the body is reduced to its most elemental rhythms, much like a flock moving in response to the seasonal growth and decline of the pasture. Individual agency begins to dissolve, as action becomes a response to external conditions rather than an expression of inner will.

Within this cycle, time is both in motion and suspended. Seasons shift, yet behaviors repeat. The self gradually merges into its surroundings, until it becomes difficult to distinguish whether one is moving through the landscape, or being carried by it.

The Ultimate TV

A face, born from calculation.
A glow, left behind by another century.
Grain, drifting between frames.

Images pass through machines,
again and again,
until time begins to blur.

The body appears—
not real, not absent—
hovering in between.

Desire lingers on the screen,
soft, mechanical, slightly delayed.

What does not belong together
leans toward each other,
almost gently.

Fish in the Toilet

Video projection in toilet, loop (7 seconds)

A dead goldfish
poured into the toilet.

Ripples.

A numb face.

The sound of water.

Wet Dreams

Ghosts of fish
drift in contained water—
dark red,
bleeding through.

A surface,
barely still.

Something stirs
inside the cup,
too small to hold it.

It unsettles,
insists—

drives me
toward something
unnameable.

Homecoming

Have you gone home,
little fish?

Waves return
inside a bucket.

I think
I might miss home too.

Water.
Leaves.
Feathers.

A crow—
self-absorbed,
indulging in its own sorrow.

It dances,
erratic,
jumps—

falls into water.

Above,
seagulls keep shitting.
